Immersive evening events, interactive lunches, dynamic conversation breaks … at TEDWomen, many of the most important ideas will be generated when people connect with each other. We offer many ways to make sure they do.

Pre-conference Excursions

National Museum of Women in the Arts Tour

Explore the collections and a specially curated TEDWomen 2010 exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts - a museum dedicated exclusively to the exhibition, preservation, and acquisition of works by women artists of all nationalities and periods. Participants will enjoy an exclusive curator's tour of the exhibit. Buses will depart from JW Marriott for the museum beginning at 9:45am, and will run on a continuous loop until 11:30am. Your TED name badge will be required to board the bus, so please visit the TED Registration desk at the JW Marriott prior to departure (Registration will open at 7:30am)..

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7

Welcome Dinner
7-10pm
Atrium, Concourse Level, International Trade Center

This special sit-down dinner and bonus conference session will feature a panel discussion with First Lady Callista Mutharika of Malawi, and First Lady Sia Koroma of Sierra Leone, followed by a special interview with Nancy Pelosi, and satellite speaker Yang Lan, the Oprah of China. The evening will end with a powerhouse musical performance by Angélique Kidjo, a Grammy-award winning Beninoise singer-songwriter and activist.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8

Closing Celebration
7:15-10:30pm
United States Institute of Peace

The final evening will close with a celebratory program at the newly built United States Institute of Peace (USIP). This architecturally stunning building, designed by TED speaker Moshe Safdie, features soaring open atriums and a roof with "wings" built of steel and translucent glass. The atrium in which the party will be held looks out over a stunning vista of Lincoln Memorial. Bus transportation from the International Trade Center will be provided immediately following Session 6. Return buses from USIP will run round robin to the JW Marriot, Willard, W Hotel, Kimpton-Monaco and Hyatt.
