What is TEDWomen 2013?

TEDWomen 2013: Invented Here channels the bootstrap spirit of Silicon Valley to celebrate invention in all its forms. Not just technology and things, but also solutions to poverty; approaches to peacemaking; expressions of art, and, at times, our own lives. More than 200 TEDx events around the world will take part, sharing the livestream and presenting local speakers around the theme "Invented Here." The result: A conversation celebrating inventors and designers; thinkers and makers; local problem-solvers and global leaders. See the program »

As part of the conference, local TEDxWomen events around the world surfaced and celebrated innovative people in their own communities.

“For real change, we need feminine energy in the management of the world. We need a critical number of women in positions of power, and we need to nurture the feminine energy in men.” — Isabel Allende

“Women have never been as interesting as they are now. Not at any time on this planet have women been so educated, so interesting, so capable.” — Helen Fisher
